Clayton Edsall was born and raised in Montana. His family owns a large cattle ranch in Avon, Montana. Clayton began cowboying, starting colts and training horses at a very young age and he has cowboyed all over the western United States. He has an incredible natural talent and feel for horses, and his training progressed over the years to focus on cow and rope horses. He moved to Oakdale, California in 2005 and has owned and operated Clayton Edsall Cow Horses full time since. He has trained rope and cow horses that have competed and won on a national level from the World’s Greatest Horseman in San Angelo, Texas, the NRCHA Futurity in Reno, Nevada (where he has been a finalist and finished in the money numerous years since 2005), to the NRCHA World Show in San Angelo, Texas. He has also competed at the Ranch Rodeo World Championships, including riding broncs in both Winnemucca, Nevada and Amarillo, Texas. He and his horses are money earners in multiple events. His training program focuses on the longevity of his horses’ show career and he makes honest, happy and eager horses that enjoy competition and the show pen.

Clayton also trains numerous Non-Pro and Amateur riders to compete successfully in multiple events. He works with and trains all levels of riders and offers Horsemanship, Colt Starting, Cow Horse & Roping Clinics Internationally as well as across the western United States.
